Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Hunter Global Trade Pty Ltd (ABN 66 697 824 016), trading as Hunter Indian Grocery, of Shop 6, 25 West Mall, Rutherford NSW 2320 (“we”, “us”). We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect and why

3. How we collect it
From you directly (checkout, forms, calls, in-store), automatically via cookies and analytics, and from services you use to interact with us (for example Stripe, Google, Meta).
4. Who we share it with
- Payment: Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd
- Delivery: our drivers and, if used, courier partners
- Email: Resend (transactional)
- SMS: ClickSend (transactional; marketing only with consent)
- Analytics & product: Google Analytics 4, PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Sentry
- Advertising (with consent): Meta Pixel + CAPI, Google Ads
- Hosting: Vercel (frontend), Supabase (database, Sydney)
- Ops: Slack (internal alerts)
- Government or regulators where required by law
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cross-border storage
Our primary customer database (Supabase) is hosted in Sydney (ap-southeast-2). Some sub-processors process data outside Australia (for example Stripe, Resend, Sentry EU, Meta, Google, PostHog, Clarity). We take reasonable steps to ensure they comply with the APPs or equivalent laws.
6. Direct marketing
We only send marketing emails and SMS if you have opted in. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS.
7. Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies (session, cart) are required for the site to work. Analytics and advertising cookies only run after you choose Accept all or enable them under Manage / Cookie settings. See also Cookies.
8. Retention
Order records: 7 years (tax and consumer law). Marketing preferences: until you opt out. Support conversations: about 2 years. Analytics: as configured in each tool.
9. Your rights
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is out of date or incorrect
- Ask us to delete information where we no longer need it (subject to legal retention)
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time
- Complain to us; if unsatisfied, to the OAIC (oaic.gov.au)

10. Data breach
If a notifiable data breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Children
The site is intended for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The current draft is dated 7 September 2026.
